Competitive Program
Our competitive program is for athletes in grades 8-12. Led by experienced, expert coaches, we emphasize excellence in rowing technique, encourage personal development and leadership skills, and help athletes build lasting relationships in a supportive, community-based club.
We are the largest youth rowing program in Austin, with over 100 athletes competing for our team each year. As of 2026, we are the reigning state and regional champions. In the past decade, we have medalled at Youth Nationals and Head of the Charles, and have achieved multiple grand final appearances at Youth Nationals.
Most of our rowers discover the sport in middle or high school — no prior experience needed. We welcome new athletes from all backgrounds and provide everything needed to learn, grow, and thrive in rowing and beyond.
Season Schedule
Rowing is a year-round sport, with endurance races in the fall and sprint-style championship races in the spring.
Our fall season runs from mid-August to mid-December.
Our spring season starts in January and concludes at the beginning of May following our Regional Championships. Rowers that qualify a boat for the National Championships will continue training through May and finish their season after Nationals in mid-June.
We offer one week summer camps from June-August for rowers to continue to develop their technical skills and fitness.

During the fall season, returning rowers train and compete together as the varsity squads. New rowers make up our "novice" squads, and compete against other beginners in the novice competition category at fall regattas.

We also offer resources and info sessions for athletes interested in the college recruiting process, and have helped multiple athletes on our team get successfully recruited each year.
